Good Governance

Underpinning the activities above is, of course, the need for good governance.

For AIM-quoted companies there are specific requirements under the UK Governance Code (formerly known as the Combined Code).

It sets out specific guidance on board composition and development, remuneration, shareholder relations, accountability and audit. This needs to be communicated accurately on your website investor section and in your annual report.

For all companies (AIM or private) there are useful good governance practices that we deliver:

  • Establishing structured, regular board meetings (board packs, agenda, notices and minuting of meeting)
  • Finance Director board representation
  • Creation and management of a risk register
  • Defining and managing the Treasury policy
  • Stakeholder communications
  • Operating to any shareholder agreement (for private companies)

What people say:

Outstanding governance (financial and corporate); introduced robust financial processes which are still setting the standard in our sector. Very detail focused. Nice chap too.

David Davies, Development Director, Futura Medical plc

Anthony was engaged when our previous FD left the company and he quickly picked up our accounts and financial management. Anthony works as a full member of the team and has been very helpful in a number of areas, including drawing up new budgets, formulating strategy and corporate governance.

James Jackson, Founder & CEO, SmartSensor Telemed Limited

Anthony joined us at an early formative stage and was instrumental in putting into place a strong and credible set of financial & reporting systems to control and monitor of costs and compliance requirements before and following our admission to the Alternative Investment Market.
